Q: Why are you fundraising now if you won’t film until 2021?
A:
Fundraising will give us a good picture for what scale we will be making this movie on. By doing it now, we will be able to come up with a plan for making this movie that fits our budget.
Q: Why does half of the budget go towards food?
A: We will not be paying our actors for their time on set so the least we can do is provide them with a good meal before each day of filming. We are budgeting for $10 of food/person/day. We also are looking for a chef who can make delicious food without breaking the bank. If that is you, please contact us.
Q:  Are these donations tax deductible?
A: No.
Q: What happens if the fundraiser doesn’t reach its goal?
A: If the fundraiser doesn’t reach its goal, that’s okay! The goal is a number we chose that we thought would be attainable, however it is possible for us to make the movie with less money, it will just be harder for us.
Q: What happens if the fundraiser passes its goal?
A: If the fundraiser exceeds its goal we will be thrilled, because that means we would have the ability to create a movie with higher production value. We have numerous items that we had to cut from the budget, because they weren't absolutely essential for the production.
Q: Where will the money go?
A: The money donated will go towards film equipment, props, and food for people on-set. If you want to see exactly where the money is going check out the budget. If you donate on the first day of the fundraiser, we will give 50% of your donation to the Equal Justice Initiative.
Q: Why aren’t you using Kickstarter?
A: We believe that donating through our website is the best option for our fundraiser, because it is relatively small and most of the donation will come from friends or family. Kickstarter is more efficient when you are looking for money from strangers.
Q: Can donations be anonymous?
A: Yes, when you fill out your donation form you will be asked if you wish for your donation to be anonymous.
Q: What happens if I don't fill out the Donation Form?
A: The Donation Form is mandatory and if you don't fill it out we won't be able to get you your rewards. If you don't fill it out we will try to contact you, but we can't promise anything.
Q: Why does the PayPal account belong to Ann McDermott?
A: We are using Ann's PayPal because we are not legally old enough to have a PayPal account. We wanted PayPal to be an option for donors who don't have Venmo. She will not keep any of the money.
Q: I want to be part of the crew for this movie! How can I join?
A: You are welcome to contact us through the Contact Us form on the website. We are trying to keep the crew as small as possible to prevent the spread of Covid-19, so we may not have a position for you on set.
Q: How can I stay up to date on the process of this film?
A: If you subscribe to our donors only mailing list you’ll receive updates on the production of the film! We will also be posting details  on our Instagram page.
Q: Will this movie get a theatrical release?
A: We aren't sure yet. We are planning on hosting a theatrical premiere for this film in late summer 2021, but we don't have any concrete plans for a theatrical release yet.
Q: Where/when is the premiere going to take place?
A: We can’t say for sure yet, but it will most likely be towards the end of summer 2021 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Q: Will I be able to buy premiere tickets at a later date?
A:
No.
Q: How long is the script?
A:
The script is 70 pages long.
